1. Droupadi Murmu will be the Chief Guest at a ceremony to celebrate the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’ in Delhi on 3rd December 2022.

2. Recruitment to Indian Railway Management Service, IRMS will be done by the UPSC from next year onwards through a specially designed examination.

3. Delhi government on Friday said the move to install CCTV cameras in classrooms of government schools was a "well-considered policy" which would ensure the safety of children.

5. Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha  unanimously adopted two bills, enhancing the overall reservation in the state to 76%.  The Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be provided 32% reservation in jobs and admissions in educational institutions followed by the Other Backward Classes (OBC) at 27% and Scheduled Castes (SC) at 13%. The economically weaker sections will be given a 4% quota. 

6. Supreme Court on Friday rejected the plea to include chapters on the geography and history of Northeast India in school curriculum. It said the issue falls under the domain of the education policy. 

7. Election commission set up a polling booth for a single voter in a remote forest area of Gir, Banej Village, Somnath district Gujarat. The area is part of Una Assembly constituency, which went to polls along with 88 other seats in the state. 

8. The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has declared a one-day holiday tomorrow for all government schools on account of preparations for MCD elections. The schools will remain open on the second Saturday, that is, December 10. 

 

9. High voltage campaigning is going on for the second and final phase of elections in Gujarat. 93 assembly constituencies spread over 14 districts will go to polls on Monday. 

10. The Central government on December 1 launched its facial recognition system DigiYatra at Delhi, Bangalore and Varanasi airports, which will allow domestic passengers to seamlessly travel.

1. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh  said that the Defence Shipyard has played a pivotal role in strengthening our Navy force and Coast Guard, and ensured not just timely delivery of platforms but also has given the best quality materials.

2. Two Indian Naval Ships, INS Shivalik and INS Kamorta, which are forward deployed in the South China Sea, reached Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City as part of the bilateral defence cooperation activities. 

3. Two new fast interceptor crafts will be inducted in the Indian Navy's Bengal area, taking its total fleet strength at Kolkata to eight. 

4. The 12th Edition of Exercise Agni Warrior, a bilateral exercise between the Singapore & Indian Army, which had commenced on 13 November 2022 concluded at Field Firing Ranges, Devlali (Maharashtra).

5. Indian Army’s Sudarshan Chakra Corps carried out Exercise Sudarshan Prahar in the deserts of Rajasthan.

India had earlier assumed the Presidency of the UNSC in August 2021.  India took over the presidency of G20 for one year, Wassenaar Arrangement for a year presidency of UNSC for one month.

4. US President Joe Biden has said that he is looking forward to supporting his friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi during India's G20 presidency.

5. The 7th edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS) was held from November 29 to December 1 in New Delhi.

*Why do we start coughing after eating lot of sweets?* 

Sweets or sugars by itself are not causative factors for cough. But they will worsen the cough. Many a times you might have experienced cough after eating sweets. The reason is the sugars in the food will absorb moisture from the tissue. This irritates the throat and we tend to clear it with a short cough and it subsides. Drinking water helps to rehydrate the tissue. Some foods have allergens. These are the main reason for cough and irritation. It's not the sugar as such. The quality of various ingredients of the sweet are another important factors. A good quality sweet with good shellife will not produce ill effects on ur body. The last but most important is the bacteria. Our throat itself has thousands of bacteria which are not harmful to our body. They live as communsals. There are some harmful bacteria but are dormant. With the sugars these harmful bacteria become active but they themselves will not cause cough. If the food is containing bacteria they get coupled and initiate pharyngitis. This will manifest as a throat pain, fever and cough.
